Exeter Works doors will be closing on 31 March, but you will still be able to get support and guidance on our website. The Youth Hub will open the doors to its new home in Exeter Library from 3 April.

The event will include:

  • CV Skills Workshop
  • Meeting Training Providers about the employability training available to you once in a Kickstart role
  • Talking to Employers currently recruiting for Kickstart placements

This event aims to improve your confidence in applying for positions, as well as showing just how accessible Kickstart roles are.

To book your place, talk to your Job Centre Work Coach today.

What is Kickstart?

The Kickstart Scheme provides young people with a 6-month paid job with a local employer. The placements are full funded by the Government and offer the opportunity for you to get experience of working in one of the UK’s most exciting companies.

Not only will a Kickstart Placement give you hands on work experience, but you will also have access to a huge amount of employability skills, through training, workshops & mentoring. These will cover areas such as CV writing, interview tips, and successful team working.

Placements from the Kickstart Scheme are open to people 16-24 years old, who are claiming Universal Credit, and are at risk of long-term unemployment. If you have a Job Centre work coach, they will talk to you about the Kickstart Scheme and whether it’s right for you. There are already lots of jobs available and waiting for your application!
