Step Forward is a supportive employability programme that helps care leavers in Devon aged 16 to 25 develop their skills, experience and qualifications and work on taking steps forward towards employment, education and training. The program is flexible, and person centred working individually with young people to build personalised plans to help them take ‘Steps Forward’.
We provide ring fenced apprenticeships for Care Leavers, we sit within the apprenticeship team at Devon County Council, so we are in the know about apprenticeship opportunities that come up and can offer support with applying, preparing for interviews and additional support once in position.
As part of the program we are able to offer a whole bundle of assistance in preparing for work and taking steps towards your next opportunity. These include, Access to E-Learning, careers advice, CV preparation, application support, interview skills training, job search sessions, work experience, English and Maths qualifications, CSCS cards, mentoring, volunteering search sessions.
