Digital and Tech

Digital & Tech are ever expanding job sectors for Exeter, which has experienced much stronger Digital jobs growth than the rest of Great Britain in 2020, and this trend is expected to continue.

The University of Exeter Institute for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (IDSAI) provides a hub for data-intensive science and artificial intelligence (AI) activity, and the largest number of meteorologists and climate change specialists in the UK are based in the region. In 2019 the South West Institute of Technology (SWIOT) Digital and Data Centre at Exeter College were signed off as part of a wider plan to revolutionise digital, engineering and manufacturing technology education across the region.

The region is home to many digital agencies, data analytics firms, professional services firms, plus larger employers such as the Met Office and NHS Digital.

TechExeter CIC is a community that exists to champion the best in Tech and Digital across the Greater Exeter area. They advertise jobs and opportunities, run free events, an annual conference, and provide mentoring and support. [Find out more here]
